My Friend Sam last month taught me to crochet. Why? Well 7years ago my best friend crocheted me a blanket for my first born and all three have now used it and it is still beautiful. So I wanted to return the compliment.
So I started on a rug that was very similar and now half way through the squares.
But have now found out that she is having a lttle girl so am now inspired to branch out! and found Japanese Crochet Flowers. They are easy which makes them a little addictive! Fingers crossed I finish this project!

Under 7 Soccer
Mel’s “Tony Chat” Notes – well some of them
The main things that the boys at this stage should be focusing on is :
· being “at one with the ball”
· Building Cardio Fitness
· Dribbling in different directions and
· passing the ball!
Every session they should have 500 touches of the ball!
They need to be touching the ball the whole time – whether they are still and listening to the coach or waiting in line their ball should be next to their feet.
Rough Training Outline.
Warm Up -10mins
The first thing Tony starts every training session is go for a run with their ball. Tell them to touch the ball 200 times. This helps build confidence with the ball. Builds cardio strength. And if they are counting they are concentrating on the ball and not mucking around with others, initiating focus.
Randomly around the field
Follow the Leader
Around the boundary of the field.
(I think we can do a mixture of these to get the 200 touches up as we all know that our boys won’t go out there at this stage and do this.)
Dribbling Skills –Not just in a straight line – 10 mins
Example Drill - Dribble straight to a cone then off at a 45degree angle and off again.
Passing Skills – 10mins
Example Drill - Dribble to a cone Pass the ball to the coach – player keeps coming forward the coach passes it back and the player shoots to goals.
Structured Positions – 10mins
Tony says that they are too young to understand real strategy but if every session you set up!
5 players
2 Strikers
1 Mid fielder
2 Defenders
Then give the ball to one of the defenders. He passed to the other Defender who passes it to the midfielder who passes it to the striker who passes it to the other striker and then scores – or what ever the sequences are and you keep doing this for 10 minutes every session.
No defenders.
The boys then get use to instinctively knowing their team members around them and eventually during a game it will click and they won’t worry about the other team be - right XXX is to my left and I pass to him he will pass it back and I will shoot! Etc.
Game - 20mins
Play a mini game.
Post Note:
Over Summer Tony said that for 10mins every week father and son should have a kick around and once it cools down a bit they will be raring to play more soccer again.
Tony does soccer clincs during soccer season school holidays at Boronia Park. My son and his friend love them and its only $20 for 9am-12pm.

What's in a name?
I am not sure where my blog name came from.
Maybe it's because for the first time in 7 Years I am finally clearing the fog of motherhood to reclaim brain space for me!
Maybe it's because some days are like wondering through Fog - Not sure where the $%#% I am but just keep going forward.
Or maybe it's because it is mystical, turning everything and anything - a fresh and beautiful! Romantic!
Not sure but for some reason, at this moment - Through the Fog.... hits a cord.

I must say none of the Major cities of the West Coast of USA particularly blew me away but the National Parks! SUPERB!

My Debut into the Cyber World
Why am I doing this? Not sure!
But will have fun anyway!
The Background is a shot I took in the Sequoia National Park on our trip to the USA in 2004. It was one of those unplanned spectacular days.
My Aim is to post a post once a week! Who knows what will happen but...
Thanks for tuning in!
